Autonomous Systems

Artemis Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS)

Artemis is KBR’s complete sub-25-kilogram multirotor system optimized for rapid startup and launch and swift, agile flight (circa 100 kilometers/hour). The Artemis family of autonomous systems is designed for GNSS-denied operations and high-tempo, threat-to-life emergency use cases. Features include a simple user interface, electro-optical/infrared cameras or ultrafast response 2DOF gimbal designed and manufactured in house, long-range BVLOS-capable radios, human portable carriage subsystem, and more.

TTMT (Tracking and Targeting Moving Things)

TTMT is the heart of KBR’s autonomous systems. Our proprietary control algorithms enable rapid, truly autonomous closed-loop offboard UAS control in 8DOF, including gimbal. Custom implementation combines state-of-the-art convolutional neural networks and classical computer vision tracking approaches for multitarget identification and high-frame-rate tracking at the edge. TTMT enables GNSS-denied object of interest identification and the ability to follow fast-moving vehicles on land or at sea. Additional features include precise, semantic subregion tracking and compatibility with electro-optical/infrared cameras.

Dash C3

KBR's DASH C3 is an interactive graphical user interface that provides real-time situational awareness and decision support through the coordination of multiple sensing assets all observing complex suites of uncooperative objects. Users can adjust the desired situational awareness parameters and dynamically configure the display based on specific features or targets of interest. Dash C3 has been developed and used in multisensor, multi-object scenarios.

KBR has integrated commercial and government software and hardware capabilities to deliver both a secure warfighting fabric (CRYSTALVISTA) and high-performance computing nodes (Quantum Pantheon) to give clients the tactical edge.

CRYSTALVISTA is a secure warfighting fabric that is data, system, platform and cloud agnostic. The solution uses combinations of data paths, including commercial internet, to create a global mesh network through which sensitive encrypted data may be quickly and securely transmitted. Quantum Pantheon accelerates the ability to sense and make sense of any operational environment by processing and contextualizing data where it’s created. While they operate as standalone solutions, both employ a modular open systems approach that enables maximum interoperability and sustainment at mission speed.

Cyber Range

KBR's Cyber Range is a secure virtual platform for real-world cyber testing and defense tactic development. The Cyber Range facilitates advanced network simulations without impacting mission-critical systems. This unique digital solution offers remote technical and advisory services for operating plants and other facilities. KBR INSITE securely gathers data and analyzes it to provide value-adding insights into process performance. Traditionally used in the chemicals and industrial sectors, INSITE is being expanded to include aircraft systems operations.

CSOM

CSOM (Center Scheduling Optimization Module) is KBR’s automated enterprise scheduling solution. CSOM’s advanced optimization algorithm simultaneously considers the entire solution space of the project and optimally schedules precisely configured mission assets and infrastructure to maximize utilization of often limited or expensive resources. Our proven methodology improves schedule robustness and quality and can be applied to many types of large and labor-intensive scheduling problems.

WRAITH

The KBR WRAITH (Warfighter Real-time Analysis and Interoperability with Truth) suite enables real-time visualization of multiple tactical, commercial and instrumentation systems. WRAITH is highly customizable, allowing interface and algorithm components to be independently developed and dynamically loaded into the application at runtime. Data can then be routed between components as defined in a configuration file. This allows WRAITH to be configured in dramatically different ways depending on the use case.

KBR’s Athena turns large, dynamic data sets into confident decision-making. Athena is a large-scale data management, analysis, visualization and reporting suite purpose built to provide large-scale data management, data analysis and visualization, powerful automation, and reporting capability in a team environment. Features include powerful automated script-generation tools; interactive data sorting, filtering, and grouping; and scalable and extensible advanced data processing and data analysis algorithms.

HAL

KBR HAL (Harness for Adaptive Learning) automates the exploration and exploitation of modeling and simulation tools, extracting insights from existing digital assets. HAL is an advanced experimental design, adaptive sampling, and machine learning framework that facilitates the understanding of computer simulation models, algorithms, and black-box systems that have automated, repeatable, and complex behavior. HAL scales with the problem set from a single node on a workstation to distributed execution in a high-performance computing environment. HAL supports analyses across a wide range of domains and modeling and simulation fidelities, including applications in system design, verification and validation, reverse engineering, and portfolio management.

KBR’s adaptable mission system software framework enables rapid delivery and integration of critical mission software, from tactical embedded systems to enterprise cloud solutions. The framework uses extensive automation to enforce architecture and quality requirements, enabling multiple parties to collaborate to rapidly assemble, validate, accept, and field software-intensive critical mission systems. KBR Making Robust Life-cycle Decisions (MRLD, pronounced “emerald”) solution is a dynamic tradespace analytic platform that provides advanced decision support for system design tradeoffs across cost, benefits, mission and timing factors to enable informed decision-making for complex enterprises. MRLD’s intuitive decision analysis software uses the broadly applicable Multi-Attribute Tradespace Exploration (MATE) methodology to enable informed, analysis-enabled decision-making across numerous domains. MRLD leverages existing models, connecting performance, cost, value, and uncertainty metrics with data exploration and visualization tools to provide actionable insights for complex problems.

BEAM

KBR BEAM (Bilateral Enterprise Analysis Model) is an enterprise-level simulation tool that helps our clients explore the potential implications and impacts of future technologies, strategies, force structures and changing access to infrastructure within the context of intelligent and adaptive adversaries. BEAM models both friendly and adversarial forces, allocating forces to missions and evaluating mission outcomes with the flexibility to rapidly insert and assess the effectiveness of new strategies and capabilities. BEAM enables rapid evaluation of force structure and strategy and more informed decision-making across current and future domains and scenarios.

GIANT

KBR GIANT (GPS Interference and Navigation Tool) is a mission-level modeling and simulation tool that predicts the impact of position, navigation and timing (PNT) system performance on operational effectiveness in benign, contested or degraded environments. GIANT has been applied to hundreds of analyses by U.S. and international civilian and military user communities. Uses cases include research and development, acquisition programs, test and evaluation, training, concept of operations development, mission planning and operations.

MBSEi

KBR’s unique MBSEi (Model-based Systems Engineering Integration) methodology is at the forefront of the U.S. Office of the Secretary of Defense’s Digital Engineering Strategy and provides solutions across the entire program life cycle. MBSEi goes beyond “traditional” MBSE capabilities. We incorporate powerful tools in a seamless MBSE framework, integrating standard and custom models, simulations, tools, and databases that interact with an authoritative source of truth to inform enterprise and program decision-makers.
