Publish date

In 2015, KBR in a joint venture with Kvaerner (under the name K2JV), signed a contract with Statoil for the complete delivery of platform topsides in the Johan Sverdrup field development in the Norwegian continental shelf. The Johan Sverdrup utility and living quarters (ULQ) topsides EPC project has achieved an exciting milestone recently with safe load out of the 12,500 ton utility module.

K2JV's utility and living quarters topsides is loaded onto a barge at the Kvaerner facility in Stord, Norway.

KBR's Andrew Delugar, Project Director, said, "This is a terrific achievement – delivered safely and on time, reflecting the great team work within the K2JV. I look forward to the next stage of installing the Accommodation Modules (from our sub-contractor Apply Leirvik) to form the full 18,000 ton ULQ topside, and then achieving mechanical completion in September 2018."
