KBR's Aspire Defence Capital Works JV Achieves Outstanding Industry Review

Publish date

KBR's Aspire Defence Capital Works (ADCW) Joint Venture has been highly commended by the UK's Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) for its approach to the environment, safety and community initiatives, scoring their best ever rating in a recent CCS site audit.

CCS is a non-profit, independent organization founded by the construction industry to improve the image of construction through monitoring all registered sites, suggesting areas where improvements could be made and rewarding those who are performing at the highest levels.

KBR’s ADCW JV project at Tidworth achieves top rating from construction industry audit

A CCS audit was carried out at ADCW's Tidworth project on November 29, 2017 and the site performed 'beyond compliance' in all five areas of the inspection: care about appearance, respect the community, protect the environment, secure everyone's safety and value their workforce. In all categories, the site received an 'exceptional' rating.

The CCS Monitor's site report stated, "One cannot fail to be impressed by the efforts made on this site to meet the requirements of 2017 code of considerate practice. There is a real feel good factor about the project and I believe this is testament to the excellent efforts of the Project Manager and his team to meet [CCS] requirements. The overall presentation of the site is of an exceptionally high standard and gives an extremely positive impression of the contractor and industry. The contractor is evidently mindful of base sensitivities and works closely with military personnel regarding ensuring appropriate standards of performance are maintained."

Rhod McGregor, ADCW Project Director, said, "This was the first audit for the project and we are striving to improve our scores across all our projects. The team have performed really well in achieving the highest score ever awarded by the CCS."

A second audit at Bulford on December 12, 2017 also returned high scores (43/50), with ADCW praised for its efforts to create positive interaction with the local community, its commitment to protecting and enhancing the environment and for high levels of safety performance in all areas of operation.
