Delivering Differently – KBR at DPRTE
Earlier this month, colleagues from our Government Solutions EMEA business stepped into the virtual conference world for DPRTE’s (Defence, Procurement, Research, Technology and Exportability) first online conference.
The flagship event traditionally brings together industry leaders, defence stakeholders and SMEs in a face-to-face setting, but instead moved to a virtual platform due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.
As a gold sponsor for the first time, KBR showcased the work of its Government Solutions EMEA business in the Defence Procurement and Supply Chain space. The new format saw an increase in visitors with 1200 attendees.
As part of our input, Dougal Monk, Director of Strategic Development, delivered a virtual keynote speech – outlining how KBR are delivering differently for Infrastructure and Estates within the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD), and discussing three key tenants to a successful supply chain: collaboration, technology led solutions for today and tomorrow and shifting the lens on social value.
Our virtual booth, which attracted strong visitor numbers throughout the day, allowed us to showcase and provide easy access to recent key areas of work, including our Roadmap for Sustainable Defence Support whitepaper, our social value commitments and how to work with KBR as a supplier.
"As the world adapts to deliver in new ways, we’re seeing the positive opportunities this has created including this style of engagement," said Monk. "Improved analytics pre and post event allowed us to better target stakeholders, develop new relationships and make material easily accessible in a digital format."
Other keynote speeches included the Minster of State for Defence Procurement, Jeremey Quinn MP, and the Chief Commercial officer from MOD, Andrew Forzani, as well as a range of educational sessions that allowed KBR attendees to share ideas.
Later this month GS EMEA colleagues will continue embracing the virtual approach when they present at the Joint MOD and Industry Support Chain Digital Seminar, and again in November when they raise further awareness of their Roadmap for Sustainable Defence Support whitepaper at the Defence Sustainability Conference 2020.
As other events and conferences around the globe move into a virtual environment, KBR continues to successfully reimagine how we deliver in this space.
