KBR Training Program Gains IMechE Accreditation

Publish date

KBR’s UK engineering training scheme has been successfully reaccredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), providing its mechanical graduates and apprentices with a solid foundation to build their future careers in the field.

KBR runs the program each year, combining rigorous technical training with essential soft skills development, preparing graduates for the complex challenges of modern engineering projects.

The latest cohort, consisting of 16 aspiring engineers, were offered specialized training in emerging sectors such as carbon capture and hydrogen, ensuring graduates are prepared for future engineering challenges in the energy sector and beyond.

The alignment of the training program with IMechE demonstrates KBR’s commitment to developing world-class engineering talent.

James Buxton, KBR Mechanical Discipline Manager, Engineering Operations, said, “In an era of unprecedented technological transformation, we recognize that today's graduates need to be ready to adapt to work on a variety of energy projects. Our IMechE-accredited program is designed to provide graduates with a robust foundation to enable them to adapt and excel in this rapidly evolving business over the span of their careers.”

The IMechE accreditation, awarded by one of the world’s oldest and most respected engineering institutions, validates KBR UK’s position as a center of excellence for engineering talent development. This recognition strengthens the company's ability to attract top-tier graduates globally, particularly crucial as KBR continues to expand its presence in emerging technology sectors.

The program’s success demonstrates KBR’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of engineering excellence, essential for the complex, safety-critical projects the company delivers worldwide. By investing in future talent through IMechE-accredited training, KBR reinforces its commitment to developing engineers who can lead the industry through upcoming decades of technological transformation.
